ACTIVITIES
These activities usually involve small numbers of members. They are coordinated and arranged by a SAIL member.  If you need transportation, call the activity coordinator.

Brown Bag Luncheon Group
This group meets at 11:30 AM on the third Friday of each month in the Fellowship Hall of the Episcopal Church.  It is a very informal setting where members bring their own snack for lunch and SAIL provides beverages and dessert.  Members have the opportunity to meet and greet other SAIL members, and there is a short presentation/discussion on some topic of general interest.  Attendees usually leave prior to 1 PM.  Ted Walton (304) 876 0564 or
twalton_1998@yahoo.com is the luncheon coordinator.

Trivia Tuesday at the Clarion
Trivia Tuesday is an on-going community event attended by a regular crowd of trivia fans in the Shepherdstown area every Tuesday in the Rumsey Tavern at the Clarion Hotel.  Sail participates the fourth Tuesday of the month. It starts at 7 PM and wraps up at approximately 9:30 PM. If you want to order dinner, please arrive around 6:15 PM. This is a fun evening of brain teasing trivia questions.  We can have as many members on the team as we have interested SAIL participants.  It is not mandatory that you attend every week.  If you plan to attend, please call Martha Young (304) 876-2945 by the Sunday before, so she can reserve a table

T'ai ChiT'ai Chi
T'ai Chi is slow and gentle and does not leave you breathless; it addresses the key components of fitness -- muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and to a lesser degree, the aerobic conditioning.  In a 2006 study, Stanford University researchers reported improved muscle strength, flexibility, balance and stress reduction after a T'ai Chi program.   The course is held at the Trinity Church Chapel on Church Street in Shepherdstown.  For details phone (304) 870-7245 or email info@shepherdstownSAIL.org for meeting time and fee.

Lunch IconLunch Bunch
The Lunch Bunch meets at 12 noon on the second Tuesday of each month at a different local restaurant. Each member orders and pays separately.  To attend, RSVP to John Burns by the Sunday before the Tuesday lunch.  His contact information is: jfitzburns@gmail.com or phone (304) 876-9146

Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre 2018
Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre offers three musicals this June and July.
Saturday, June 23, at 2:30 p.m.
NewsiesSet in NYC at the turn of the 20th century, Newsies is the rousing story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged ‘newsies; who dreams only of a better life than the hardship of the streets. But when Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike for what is right.

Saturday, July 7, at 2:30 p.m.
West Side StoryShakespeare’s Romeo and Juliette is transported to mid-century NYC as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the ’American’ Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-rending, and relevant musical dramas of our time.

Saturday, July 21, at 2:30 p.m.
Mama Mia! A mother, a daughter, and three possible dads, and a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget! On the eve of her wedding in a Greek island paradise, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
