AARP.org explains many types of scams and actions to take and offers The Perfect Scam podcast and a fraud watch helpline.

Medicare Card Scams lists common examples. See also Medicare.gov/fraud for information on preventing and reporting Medicare fraud and abuse.  


Scams Targeting Older Adults, and avoidance techniques, from National Institute on Aging.


National Council on Aging explains the most common scams against older adults, including the top 5 financials scams.  They also have a good introduction explaining why older persons are targeted.


Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Office for Older Americans provides information focused on scam education, including a page on elder financial abuse.  While the primary audience is professionals serving older adults, much of it is relevant to the older consumer as well.
