SAIL News:

July Brown Bag Lunch -- July 18, 11:30 -- Trinity Church Fellowship Hall

The West Virginia Wild Yards Program encourages gardeners and landscapers to provide habitat for wildlife on their property. By using native plants and providing food, water, cover, and places to raise young, we can protect wildlife and enjoy the beauty of nature right in our own backyards. This presentation will discuss the importance of native plants, the dangers of invasive species, landscape improvements to support wildlife and easy steps towards creating a backyard wildlife habitat. We’ll also discuss the certification process for becoming a certified WV Wild Yard.

Susan Wolcott is a certified Master Naturalist, has a certified WV Wild Yard in Shepherdstown, and has completed Wild Yards Assessor Training. The WV Wild Yards Program is part of the WV Department of Natural Resources.

Come at 11:30 am to Trinity Episcopal Fellowship Hall on Friday June 20. Bring your lunch and visit with SAIL members. Drinks and desserts will be available. The program on "Wild Yards" will begin at noon.
